Shojuen Events
Stargazing (end of November ~ early March)
Sarugakyo hot spring is a perfect location for stargazing. The winter sky is particularly suitable for stargazing as the atmosphere tends to be clearer. Please enjoy a romantic night under a shower of stars. * Depending on the weather, stargazing might not be possible.

Firefly Watching (early June ~ early July)
Fireflies fly in our hotel’s garden during this season. An evening stroll for firefly
watching would be a great early summer memory.
* Depending on the weather, firefly watching might not be possible.

Ema Charm Prayer For Good Luck (all seasons)
Our hotel’s kiosk offers Ema, a Japanese traditional wishing board. Write your wishes on the board and hang at our Hachiman-shrine.

Folktale Night (first Saturday, every month)
We host “Shojuen folktale night” every first Saturday at the hotel, where Sarugakyo hot
spring’s old folktales are told. The old tales are told in the local dialect (Japanese only).
Closed from February 2020. Resumption is undecided.
